For years I have been asked why I volunteer, and my answer remains the same: I can’t handle seeing my country suffering as if no one cares and because it makes me feel alive.
Micholette, started volunteering locally when I was around 19 doing some volunteering work in places Dasmarinas Cavite which were closely connected to my University (Graphics Design and Multimedia Art – NSTP subject) as that was what I felt most comfortable doing.
Me and my colleague Jake built a clothing apparel for a cause and named it as Fifty Fifty Philippines. Fifty for Altruism and Fifty for Creative Arts. It is our goal to reach as many people as we can so we can inspire kindness. One day while scrolling through facebook, I found a page which is AGAPE Charity Events and I got curious so I joined the group. Even if I can’t be physically present I decided to be a sponsor.
2020 has been a long long year. All of us have had to deal with a new reality and come to grips with a new normal. Meeting AGAPE virtually was life changing.
In helping others, I am reminded that we are all in this together and we need to remember to support each other.
