Have you ever experienced riding a jeepney in the Philippines?
If so, you might have experienced this kind of scenario.
When you’re in a jeepney waiting for the stoplight to turn red to green, some street children would hop in the jeepney you’re into, and sit in the middle of a jeepney.
While they’re sitting there, they give you an envelope to put money on it if you like what they’re singing, and even sometimes, they just sit there waiting for you to give them money.
And, after a few minutes, they would jump out and find another jeepney to hop on.
This is a very typical scenario here in the Philippines.
And this is one of the ways street children do to survive and get some money for that day.
Because if they’re not doing it, they’re simply sleeping with a hungry stomach in the night.
It’s sad but it’s true.
But all of these problems have positive news somehow…
Because of this, some people build and support foundations to help these kids in the streets.
To give them hope and the opportunity to taste what it feels like to have a family. To have the opportunity to get an education. And to give bigger chances of success.
And you know what?

Because they’re no longer able to do their usual ways of living due to strict protocols.
