In celebration with the National Arts Month as declared and celebrated since 1991, AGAPE Selfless Unconditional Love, Inc. reached out to a remarkable project named as “Bahay KuBOOKS” spearheaded by Teacher Kimberly Oraye of Bololo Elementary School last February.
Bahay KuBOOKS is nationally recognized and even got featured on National TV for their advocacy in providing reading aids to children in the community of Brgy. Guinobatan, Bololo, Albay in the Bicol Region. Having this mission to the community, Bahay KuBOOKS is also named as the “Bololo Community Reading Hub.”
AGAPE and Bahay KuBOOKS launched and handed over the story and activity book for kids entitled “In The Beginning.” A total of 200 books, made possible by the generous help of AGAPE’s sponsors and volunteers, travelled 282.786 miles (455.1 kilometers) from Manila to Brgy. Guinobatan, Albay.
This project aims to boost creativity and literacy skills of children as the book includes the creation story, alphabet and number writing practices, and coloring pages.
AGAPE and Bahay KuBOOKS are certain in the addition of literacy within the community of Brgy. Guinobatan through this project.
We hope that despite this global circumstance that we’re facing with the COVID-19 pandemic, we can STILL continue to nurture the minds of children, especially the ones who are most in need.
